Mangaluru: No preaching Bible, Quran in schools – Education minister B C Nagesh

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Apr 28: Education minister Nagesh said that there is there is no chance for conducting religious classes in schools run by Christians.

Nagesh was responding to the accusation made by the archbishop of Bengaluru that BJP government is targeting Christian institutions. Nagesh said that whether the educational institution is run by minorities or any other community, they have to follow rule as implemented under Karnataka Education Act. He said there is no scope for preaching Bible or Quran in schools.

The archbishop negated the accusation of saffron organization that Christian educational institutions are indulging in forceful conversion. He has also said that the allegation made against Clarence School by Hindu awareness committee is complete lie and misleading.

I know that you feel hurt when we say Jesus is Truth. We are saying this because it is in the Bible (Jn 14:6). Bible also says nobody can come to Jesus unless God Sends them to Him. (Jn 6:44) This is precisely why in 2000 years of Christianity in India the population of Christians in India is only 2.5%. Apart from that the following two verses gives us His 2 of His inspiring promises as follows. a) “Call to me, and I will answer you; I will tell you wonderful and marvelous things that you know nothing about. (Jer 33:3).This is useful to all those who are in research. b) I am telling you the truth: those who believe in me will do what I do—yes, they will do even greater things, because I am going to the Father. 13And I will do whatever you ask for in my name, so that the Father's glory will be shown through the Son. If you ask me for anything in my name, I will do it.(Jn 14:12-14) I bring to your kind attention that Upanishads strongly recommends you seek the truth from God by asking unseen God to lead you to the truth. Why would the Upanishad give such a prayer if all paths were to lead to the truth? May I strongly suggest you to say that prayer sincerely. However, as you are averse to Christianity may I suggest the following prayer.” O unseen God lead me to the truth other than Jesus Christ” My humble request to the Church and other Christian denominations not tp suggest any Verses from the Bible to be included in the Moral science subject. Comparative study of religion only leads to Judging and condemning and we are prohibited in doing it in Mathew chapter 7. Let the Govt restrict Bhagavat Gita only to the Hindus

Rather than calling it preaching of religion, how about a subject called religions of India? How about stressing on the commonalities between the religions? Leave the contentious issues on practices, what follower of one book thinks of other etc., because there is plenty in the internet on that. If and when our population grows intellectually and matures, even the disagreements can also be part of the curriculum. Religion as a subject for education and preaching of holy books to extend the influence of the religion are different. Identity derived from religion and that constituting the voter base is different from education on religions. Again, it should be centrally regulated and not some unregulated text. Banning alone is not a solution for every problem. Today, there are thousand different versions in the understanding within the population. Reason is not because they know very well - it is precisely due to illiteracy on religion. Let me quote Sri Bannanje Govindarcharya here, who said that Upanishad, Bible and Quran teach the same thing.

It is sad that, our government is behind religion and they are spitting venom among the each religion. They font want to see common people live peacefully. Being an Indian first rather than Hindu, i think only mankind and humanity among my neighbors.I still remember during my school and college days,we used to visit muslim and Catholics home and eat and mingle all religious functions without any restrictions ( I do maintain the same now also) .Those time no one was caring I am a Hindu ,muslim christians. But now situation is changed and now a days we are breaking the bonds between. we should educate our childrens first to live the life with dignity and helping each other regardless of religion. In this way only we can contribute to our nation and india can grow ,otherwise,it is too late.

Now a days most of the politicians are anaware of the religion. To comment on any religion he has to read all the religious books of all the religions. Without opening any of the books how one can conclude that which religion is better than the other. Religion is the faith on one Universal invisible God. Instead of creating problems in the name of invisible God, it is most appropriate to love the humanity as we love ourself. Bible teaches love of humanity. This is the reason the politicians who are greedy of power and wealth are always against Bible. Their main intension is to see that all the poor and downtrodden are their vote bank and slaves. Uplift of them will be a hindrance to their popularity

Last 100 years everything going smoothly - Education institutes -- run by Christian - The Christians are below 3 % whole of India -- Population wise -- Now all of a sudden a majority feels threatened by a well serving minority -- it is sheer all in all vote bank politics-- -- many are having low qualifications in the ruling dispensation -- hence such directions given-- Needless meddling on a community which has contributed immensely -- Schools-- colleges -- hospitals -- nursing -- many have reached the Top -- across communities -- BANK MD's -- ARMY chiefs and other defence services -- and other fields -- and also Sports -- music etc --all was available at reasonable costs -- high quality education -- without bias -- Today many institutions -- non catholic-- take donations for admissions into Kindergarten itself --which used to cover the whole fees -- when studying in Christian institutions -- from kindergarten to Pre univ -- So all communities have benefitted -- without even having an in depth knowledge of the bible etc -- or trying to suppress other religions in schools --or make one feel inferior--

These people are only busy with all these non sense jobs. Instead of it let them do so productive jobs. So many students cannot afford to pay high donations for higher education they travel abroad where the fees is cheaper and rescue their own life. Let them do something regarding this. So many years there were no such religion discrimination. Why create commotion in the country. Let people live peacefully.
