July 2: Dakshina Kannada reports 14 Covid cases, Udupi adds 6 infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 2: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday July 2, reported 14 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 6 cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,837 out of which 57 are currently active. Eight patients were discharged on July 2.
No deaths were reported on July 1. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,852.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority. Positivity rate is at 1.85 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As many as 6 coronavirus cases were reported on July 2. The total active Covid cases are 20.

A total of 10,88,668 people have received first dose of vaccination and 10,77,751 have received both doses and 1,02,528 people have received booster dose.

Udupi taluk reported 5 cases, Kundapura 1 and no cases were reported from Karkala.
