Daijiworld Media Network - Sullia (DV)

Sullia, Jul 21:  A day after a gang attacked a youth brutally over a trivial reason in Kalenja of Bellare, he died after failing to respond to the treatment in a hospital.

The deceased youth is Masood (18).

It may be recalled that a gang of eight members had attacked Masood on July 19 night in Vishnunagara of Kalanja village. Masood was a resident of Mogral Puthur in Kasargod. As he was severely injured after he was assaulted with a soda bottle, he was shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru.

He was treated in the Intensive Care Unit in a private hospital but he succumbed to the injury.

Deceased Masood

Kasargod resident Masood (18) who had come to Abbu Mukthi, his grandfather’s house at Kalanja, Sullia a month ago had been working as a daily wager. It is said that on July 19 Masood was going to attend a private function. When he went to a shop, a fight ensued between one of the accused and Masood over a trivial reason of accidentally bumping across each other. The accused Sudhir threatened Masood with a bottle, states the complaint.

The accused Sunil and Abhilash contacted complainant Ibrahim Shanif and stated that Masood had assaulted Sudhir. On the pretext of resolving the matter amicably, the duo asked Ibrahim to come with Masood to Vishnunagara.

Accordingly, Ibrahim Shanif  had gone along with Masood to Vishnunagar at around 11 PM . There, a gang of eight members-Sunil, Sudhir, Shiva, Sadhashiv, Ranjith, Abhilash, Gym Ranjith and Bhaskar-brutally assaulted Masood. During the fight,  Abhilash hit Masood's head with a soda bottle.

Masood and Ibrahim both had to flee the spot in different directions. When Shanif and his friends searched for Masood, he was lying unconscious near the well belonging to one Aboobakar.

Later, he was shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru. As per the complaint, police have arrested the accused Sunil, Sudhir, Shiva, Sadhashiv, Ranjith, Abhilash, Gym Ranjith and Bhaskar.

All these culprits have past criminal records having participated in killing + looting + cheating + threatening etc etc. The only solution to solve the issue will be encountering them or awarding death sentence. Govt should also compensate famijly of the deceased by not less that Rs. 50 lacs and give govt job to one of his family members. As this was a planned murder, police should also arrest the organisation behind this brutual killing and ban the organisation.

Religious hatred is sown and spread by BJP party all over India for staying in power. They use any means to stay in power. This hatred will get so deep and eventually destroy our beloved country. Internationally India has now lost respect it had over the years. This hatred and corruption will lead to self destruction.

These days youngsters are resteless and fight over trivial issues We must teach young people to be more tolerant and do not start fights After all violence can never solve problems Lets all restrain from fighting and follow peaceful means There is no problem that cant be tackled by talking and dialogue There is no need to fight always Only a good behaviour can solve issues

Its sad. One boy lost life and 8 others will lose theirs rotting in jails. There will not be a life as usual after this for them. However, one has to remember, this is not one off cases, that used to happen in the past. There is a immense religious hate that is spreading and brewing inside youths of the country. Added to existing rate of unemployment, police actions in some inactions in other, judicial ineffectiveness, it is spreading faster than wild fire. Nation which is immune currently, will have a price to pay for their casual attitude.
