Bantwal: Brahmarakootlu Shrine Will Continue to Stand – Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat

Daijiworld Media Network – Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, Apr 6: Save Brahmarakootlu Shrine Committee said that the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has agreed not to demolish Bramharakootlu shrine that has been hampering the widening of the national highway 48  between Mangalore and B C Road, and demolition plan of which has encountered stiff resistance. It said that the authority, while agreeing to retain the shrine, has sought grant of Rs 80 lac for deviating from the plan and build road by its side.

The committee leaders gave this information at the valedictory ceremony of the unbroken Bhajana programme held by the committee in the premises of the Brahmarakootlu shrine on Tuesday April 5 evening.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader, Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, speaking on the occasion, stressed that it is the duty of the society and the government to protect worship centres. He said that religion is the soul of India and worship centres symbolise religions. He stressed that Brahmarakootlu shrine will never be allowed to be demolished.

The leaders also read out a letter purported to have been addressed by the authority to the government, seeking an additional grant of eighty lac rupees to build road by the side of the shrine.

It may be recalled that the Ashtamangala divine query organized by the committee some time back, had advised against demolishing the shrine, and sought conducting of 48 days of Bhajans and devotional songs to strengthen the vibes around the shrine.

Bheemeshwar Joshi, managing trustee of Horanadu Annapoorneshwar Temple, presided. Sri Gurudevandnda Swamiji of Odiyoor, Sri Mohandas Swamiji of Sridhama Manila, Sri Rajashekharananda Swamiji of Gurpur Vajradehi Mutt, and K S Nityanand of Vedya Vijnana Mandir of Chikmagalur, delivered benedictory addresses on the occasion.

Litterateur, Erya Lakshminarayan Alva, chairman of Coastal Development Authority, B Nagaraj Shetty, district BJP president, K Padmanabh Kottary, president of the Brahmarakoolu governing council, B Rajashekhar Rai, and president of  the shrine committee, Diwakar Shetty Kupila, were present.

I fail to understand this logic.
Additional cost Rs. 80 lacs for diversion.
Additional fuel worth lacs will be burnt by vehicles negotiation this curve on NH 48.
Plus risk of accidents and loss of innocent lives.
What is better – getting the horse to the pond or getting the pond to the horse?

Hi, Rubena Pinto, so nice and sense of comments. Thinking of write the same message and mean time you express your feelings in the same way. Now what is the point of fighting through the sentiments of religion, our law is same like GCC country, keep on changing over night and whatever way they want to change they will. But let us pray for them, let the Almighty give them sort of sense, so that they will treat all the Religion worship places in the same manner, and protect the all the religion the people in the same way, either its minority or what so ever. We are human being just guest in this world and the God will remain forever. So what is the point of fighting for such small things.

BHARATH, MANGALORE, First of all your comment not understand, if you want to say any illegal structures disturbing to smooth vehicle movement on NH17, if its belongs to Muslim communities please ask DC to take necessary action. God can save and protect passenger’s life from side or far from road, no need a place for him between the road.

If the road can pass through the BRAHMARA KOOTLU TEMPLE by de-tour which would not hinder the road alignment for certain extent then I would say well done and congrats to devotees of them(Brahmara Kootlu). After all place of worship always has emotional bonding with it's local devotees and if the issue has soloved amicably then it is well and good.Having said that whichever structures which hinders road safety should be removed with out favor and fear as directed by honourable Suprime Court.

Yes off course, Pavan Karkala given a reply just fitted (adjusted for the place) nothing moral on that. If anybody replying here, please maintain ethic or have lit bit knowledge on that. He has not knowledge about Arabs wearing head dress. Desert places weather is suddenly flexible, even single day we can notice three types of weather and very sandy and strong winds from all of this Ancient Arabs protect their face, nose and ears also they wear rings on head to give grips on veils, so new generations followings same but out side they wont wear. Better understand straight manner is good attitude than zigzag.

It has become a fashion for some people to quote secularism and development for the issues concerning Hindus.

A Hindu Shrine is not only a prayer hall but also a place of worship ed by the Presiding Deity himself owing to the special powers of that place. These places have been identified by rushis and saints through their spiritual powers.

These places can not be destroyed at the whims and fancies of the people.

But, those people who have the history of destroying temples can not understand these subtle truths.

By considering the number of Shrines, Ashoka Trees, Banyan Trees, Nagabanas etc etc .. side of the National Highways , its better to stop the NHAI construction work in both NH17 and NH48.why to hurt feeling of any religion.

If the building is a legal structure then it is definately a correct decision because peoples sentiments have to be respected.

However if there are structures or trees that people worship but are not officially classified as PLACE OF WORSHIP then it is nothing wrong in demolishing such structures. It could belong to any religion.

    Hamid,

Straight road is dangerous for our attitude and road manners. So, zig zag road and the periodical shrines beside helps to bless the drivers. Houses closeby the zigzag highway could be risky as residents are mortal, but God is immortal and can fogive any errs.

Orthodox people are more there in the gulf. They wear veils and imposes veil to others as well. So, straight roads are needed when the vision is illusionary due to veil.

Ultimately, to have a road or highway, one has to be blessed in India. Sometime there are roads on the paper, but not physically.

I agree with Mr. Hamid. Widening /development of road are critical for the development of city/country. Let us not encourage religion becoming hurdle in the development of the country. The above temple can be relocated to accommodate the road and the relocation cost must be part of the road project. Unfortunately our politicians play with public’s sentiments and exploit the same for their political benefit. If these political leaders really interested in publics/nations well being let them be honest and have courage to express their honest opinion in public instead of politically biased opinion.

Gulf countries giving more important to the road construction than Masjid or holy places. They wont mind demolishing any Masjid or newly built buildings for straightness of road, therefore very straight roads we can see there. Here in India is opposite manner orthodox people  do not allow important places for the road development. So our NHs are zigzag and congested passing through Illegally occupied structures. Tragedy
