Puttur: Desperate Couple Seek Help in Tracing Son

Puttur: Desperate Couple Seek Help in Tracing Son

By Arun Uppinangady
Daijiworld Media Network—Puttur (RD/CN)

Puttur, Apr 12: "My son, who had gone to Bangalore four years ago in search of work has not returned home. I was hoping that my son will come some day. The hope is waning. He was our only son and support in old age," said Podiya Gowda and Ramakka, residents of Konalu village, near here, while expressing their misery over their missing son.

The couple have three children, two girls who are married and a lone son, Balasubramanya. They educated him up to Class X from their meagre income. A few years ago he had gone to Bangalore and began working for Kamat Hotel at Majestic. He returned to his hometown after working for one-and-a-half-years and managed to pay off the debts that were incurred to marry off his sister.

Balasubramanya also told his parents that although he was working in Kamat Hotel, he was fortunate to get roles in TV serials and Kannada movies. He had shown them his pictures with famous Sandalwood actresses to prove this claim. A memento that was given to him for his acting in a Kannada movie shot from June 19, 2005 to July 24, 2005 is displayed at his parents' home.

Balasubramanya’s parents blessed their son who returned to Bangalore to work at the hotel and try his luck in Sandalwood. All that Podiya and Ramakka wished was for their son to live a decent life.

The neighbours taunted the couple that they would be well-off as Balasubramanya will become a sensation in Kannada filmdom. However, the couple became worried as they received no communication from their son for over four years, but they were hopeful that he would return home some day.

Tragedy struck the couple when Podiya Gowda fell from a tree while working as a daily wage earner and broke his spinal cord. Even then, there was no news of Balasubramanya. Podiya and Ramakka became desperate when they could not afford the medical expenditure and arrived at Uppinangady police station to lodge a complaint about their missing son.

Speaking to this reporter, Podiya Gowda said, "We have a son who went to Bangalore and is missing now. I suffered a broken spinal cord while working. My wife Ramakka is not in a position to go to work due to my condition. Has my son Balasubramanya forgotten his parents? Or is he in difficulty? If he is, why does he not contact his parents? I have never been to Bangalore in my life and I have no money to trace him."

He appealed to the police and media persons to find his son.

@ Lydia, Arun, Allwyn , Ram Shetty and all the others who dragged Nagesh Maammoo here..

We all know Nagesh and his intentions, What he is made of and the charecter he depicts with his comments.. Then WHY do you want to draw a comparison to this guy who is a nuisance to the society.

Why Taunt these elderly couples request and make a mockery of it by dragging the uncultured ones (BD/SRS/Nagesh)into this incident.

@ Kurt Waschnig : Appreciate your intentions and admire your concern for the Indians, Actions speak louder than words. What this couple needs is all the support they can get and yoru suggestion is apt..

@ LydiaL: Didnt expect this response from you, You are a better person than Nagesh I am sure..

Let us learn the Art of Giving, through Sant Kabir: "When the wealth in the house increases or when water fills a boat - Throw it out with both hands” Albert Einstein said that "The value of a man resides in what he gives and not in what he is capable receiving." Heroes were ordinary people who knew that even if their own lives were impossibly knotted, they could untangle someone else's. And maybe that one act could lead someone to rescue you right back. "I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something I can do”.

The most important thing in life is to live your life for something more important than your own life. That is what brings true happiness to you. Help other people to cope with their problems and your own will be easier to cope with. Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. A smile is a language that even a baby understands. A warm smile is the universal language of kindness. Smile at each other, smile at your wife, smile at your husband, smile at your children, smile at each other it doesn't matter who it is and that will help you to grow up in greater love for each other.
“It’s more blessed to give than receive.”

"Helping Hands are better than Praying Lips”
There is a difference between desire to help and actual helping. Until we act, our desire to help has no meaning. And remember that the actions of men are the best interpreters of their thoughts. Trust only movement. Life happens at the level of events, not of words. Trust movement- Small deeds done are better than great deeds planned. Remember, people will judge you by your actions, not your intentions. You may have a heart of gold - but so does a hard-boiled egg.
    “Actions speak louder than words”
Be Kind - Do random acts of kindness every day. It can be as simple as saying something nice, offering help, giving up your place in a queue or allowing another driver to enter a busy road. Pass a blessing on to a friend or stranger let somebody have that parking space, let somebody in front of you in line at the market. Volunteer at a food bank or give some items to Goodwill. It'll boost your confidence quick.
"I shall pass this way but ONCE.
Any Goodness I can DO Any Kindness I can SHOW
Let me do it NOW. For I shall Never Pass this way... AGAIN"

When your son was asked to carry the cross he accepted it to save us. At that time your heart was full of sorrow but the God’s power was with you and you were able to over come with it. Today one of our sister child is missing and we ask you please shower your blessings on her and her husband and guide them to find out their son, we all ask this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Dear Hindu and Muslim brothers and sisters pray for them so they may have peace of mind and by the power of God let them find their son.

To those people who commented bringing in politics and religious views into this matter, I would say : Come on guys, grow up - what`s wrong with you all. All that Podiya Gowda asking is to help him to find his son who is missing, and you all are indulging into commenting on irrelevant matters. Take the example of Joel of Bangalore and direct your efforts to find Balasubramania. If he is still alive, it should not be all that difficult to find him - after all, if he is not working with M/s Kamath Hotel presently, when leaving, surely he would have disclosed his further plans to some of his friends or colleagues who would have some idea as to his whereabouts! I know several cases like this before who left their village and home and went away for years without telling their family and finally turned up one day when they had earned some good amount of money. By the way, good on you Joel for your efforts and initiatives in the matter. I appreciate Daijiworld for bringing this matter to public.

Now why Bajrangdal, Ram Sene or any other Hindu organisation is coming forward to help this Hindu Couple to trace their son who is missing since 4 years. These Organisations only want to do Dadagiri, Goondagiri and Thod Fod. Now Muthalik where are you ? Only during Valantine Day Time you come out. For Good causes why you all are not fighting ? If Catholics open Orphanages or try to help Hindus its taken as Conversation. Then next day these Goondas go to create trouble to Nuns and Priests attacking their Churches and Prayer Halls.

Yeddy is busy with OPERATION KAMALA making his party strong even though the people are weak. He is not bothered about what is happening. Dear Lydia and others,
There is no smoke unless there is a fire.Today BD etc exist because of wrong doings of some sects of christians(not RC of course).
Here issue is about a poor couple lost their son and they are helpless. You also know irrespective of cast and religion, relatives and society cares you if you are finacially well.Hence why should we bring in Nagesh and BD/RSS etc here rather than looking into the issue in a humanitarian manner.
I am a christian by birth, but a human before anything. At times I was helped by hindu brothers when I was in trouble.Hence I dont bring religion when such issue comes.Let us pray for the poor couple atleast if we could not help them to trace their son.Letz behave as a matured human being rather than commenting personally.
I hope noone will take this personally.

We Christians religiously contribute to look after the poor and some of the funds may have channeled to this institute too where the poor are fed, educated and sheltered irrespective of religion. But, the allegation of forceful conversion is defaming and proved a fabrication.

Please leave us to fight for a harmonious and dignified existing, we are educated, law-abiding citizens of a democratic country. We have a constitution to honour which, certain elements of our country do not agree with. If we keep quiet now, our children will be made slaves all over again.

Mr. Joel, may God bless you for your desire and efforts to help the helpless. However, beware of trouble mongers Bajrangis may accuse you as trying to convert helpless Gowda family. I am sure Mamu, oh sorry, the gentleman (according to only Ashok Udupi, Dubai) will never get a chance to prove himself by tracing Balasubramania. All the best Maamu.

I am touched by this story and I wish the old couple the best that their son is still alive in Bangalore and that he will get in touch with his parents.  His parents do not receive any pension and no social welfare system does exist.  They are totally dependent on their son.   I appeal to the police that everything is done to trace their son.
They do not know what happened to their son, they haven´t heard anything from him for a long time.
Let us hope for the best!
    Best regards

Shame on those commenting against Mr. Nagesh Nayak in this issue. Nagesh Nayak never attacks any one on personal issue. There is no abuse & bias in his comments. He is a gentleman.

Best option is, take a help of good neighours, relatives or known people around you who are living in Bangalore. They can inquire in Kamat hotel and find out his whereabouts. Atleast you will get some clue even if he is not working there now. They might have already tried this option?, who knows.
