Udupi: Eminent writer Kling Johnson's English book translated to Kannada

Udupi, Jan 9: 'Mari Kudureya Mysore Kanasu' a translated Kannada version of writer Kling Johnson's English book 'CLI-The Colt', was released on Friday January 8 at Jagannath Sabha Bhavan of Badagubettu Credit Cooperative Society, here. The Kannada translation is done by famous author Dr Mahabaleshwar Rao. 

The guests at the occasion, Dr Avinash Shetty, medical superintendent, Kasturba Hospital Manipal, Voilet Femina, chief officer of women police station Udupi, creative director Sithesh C Govind released the Kannada version of the book.



Writer, Dr Mahabaleshwar Rao speaking on the occasion said, "It is a story of adventure, that arouses curiousity, with element of suspense. In all, it provides entertainment, not only for children but also for all age groups. It reveals the lifestyle of urban people and the relationship of human and animals. There is enemity between animal and human beings. The story has the theme of love and cooperation and has the element of a play (drama) form or an audible book."

Guest of the occasion, Dr Avinash Shetty, said, "The book has maintained its standard and thought-provoking story throughout. Kannada literature is my choice when it comes to literature. Today's generation is leaving the habit of reading, but literature helps to build knowledge. I wish the author all the best."

Another guest Violet wished Kling all the best and desire more of his books to be published in the coming days.

The author of English version, Kling Johnson, briefed on the content of the story.

He handed over a book to BEO on the same occasion.

Mahesh S Poojary compered the programme while Pastor Stevan Sarvothama offered a prayer on the occasion.
