Mangaluru, Dec 27: In a shocking event, a groom from Mulihithlu, called off his wedding with the bride after all the preparations for the wedding were done by the bride’s family. The bride’s family has filed a police complaint alleging cheating and defamation.

It is learnt that a match was made between the girl who was from Jeppu and Nikith Shetty from Mulihithlu. All necessary arrangements were made for their wedding. The girl’s family had even booked the venue for reception and started to invite relatives and friends. Nikith then reportedly backed off from marrying the girl.

The family members of girl tried to know the reason and convince Nikith. But all their efforts went in vain as Nikith’s family members too refused to stick in their promise.

It is learnt that Nikith is working in Dubai and was in frequent touch with the girl.

Based on the complaint from the girl, Pandeshwar police registered a case under section 420 and are investigating the matter.

    Always why groom/men will be in blame..Atleast last movement he has decided to call off wedding..just imagine once marriage had solemnized & each & every formalities completed..suppose very nxt day he call off just imagine what consequences he might have to be faced. I have seen such an example in some cases what bride have shown her attitude.
    1. Refuse to pose photos on wedding day.
    2. Avoid to sit together in a car while go out vry nxt day.
    3.Keeep distance, neglect, dont speak
    4.Avoid sexual relationship
    5.Message someone latenight infront of groom
    5.When enquires abt her shout back to groom etc..etc..
    6.Threaten to register complaint against groom.

    Good thing is that.., the groom didn't estrange his wife after matrimonial ceremony..., it is better/prudent to know if this guy has some or any political ambition....!!!!

    May be he has made in recent times filipino gf ,I request to check his background in dubai.

    One Mallu had done samething,but worst part he married took his wife also to dubai but never consummated marriage,wife was doubting him to be GAY,but later found out ethat he was in relation with filipino.Then what Talaq and now Girl is married to very good guy.God is great and merciful!!!

    Its really bad to know at the last moment he called off the marriage.. he should have thought it before if he was not interested in getting married to her.
    But i think girls family should rethink... let him go.. whats the guarantee he will take care of the girl after marriage .. he might start creating problems after marriage if they force him now.. its better to let go.. the girl will find a better guy..
    happiness is important after marriage and if it begins with misunderstanding then it will lead no where

    This is a great escape for the girl.
    A man with such a behaviour that he is fine getting out of marriage at the last moment., can do any thing after the marriage as well.
    Thank god the girl is not married to such a man.

    It's good that the case is filed.. Let him face it.... But seriously no marrying the same guy.

    People,

    Like for extracting sand we need permit from Deputy Commissioner....we should also make it mandatory for people to get permit to get married from Deputy Commissioner....so we can reduce the population rate...

    DC should conduct counselling about family planning before issuing this marriage permit..

    Nobody should be allowed to get married without this 'marriage permit'...
    If anybody does not like this suggestions....can file written objections with Jossey Sir...

    Better to backtrack before the marriage than after. He might have gone to Dubai after marriage and then deserted her. However he owes the young woman an explanation.
