Babu Shetty's lifeless body was found on Kalkamba - Jadi mud road at around 12.30 pm on Tuesday. In the meanwhile, brother of Babu Shetty, Prakash Shetty Chormakki, has filed complaint alleging that this murder was the result of longstanding dispute over property between the deceased and Babu's elder sister's husband, Anand Shetty. Anand, he alleged, had bought agricultural property at Kamradi and dispute had arisen between the two over entering into agreement over Kumki land.

On the basis of this complaint, a case was registered in rural police station here. The police said that they also have come to understand that the deceased was involved with finance transactions. Therefore, the police have also been looking into this possibility. They said they are continuing with the investigation based on hints they have gathered so far.
