Kundapur, Aug 11: Indira Shetty was elected president of Kundapur taluk panchayat in the elections held on Tuesday August 11.

Ram Kishan Hegde will continue to be the vice-president.

Assistant commissioner Raju K was the election officer. Kundapur mandala BJP president Shanker Ankadakatte, Kundapur mandala former president Suresh Shetty Kadoor, Udupi district chief secretary Sadananda Uppinakudru, taluk panchayat vice president Ram Kishan Hegde, social justice committee president Roopa Pai, Byndoor mandala BJP president Deepak Kumar Shetty, Byndoor mandala chief secretary Prakash Poojary, taluk panchayat executive Keshava Shettigar and others were present.

Kundapur taluk panchayat had 37 members in the past. As 14 members have joined Byndoor taluk panchayat and one member to Hebri taluk panchayat, there are 22 members in Kundapur taluk panchayat at present. Sixteen members among them belong to BJP and six members to Congress party.
