Mangaluru, Dec 22: MLA Vedavyas Kamath and MLC Ivan D'Souza inaugurated the 'Robotic Butterfly Show' at Kadri Park on Sunday, December 22, as part of the month-long Karavali Utsava, which runs from December 21 to January 19.
The exhibition, open daily from 4 pm to 9 pm, features robotic butterflies, ants, and dragonflies, providing a unique opportunity for children to learn about different species.
Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan said, "This is the first time a robotic butterfly show is being held as part of Karavali Utsava. It provides a unique opportunity for children to see robotic representations of butterflies, ants, and dragonflies, helping them recognise and appreciate various species."
The show has an entry fee, with concessions available for children.
The schedule for the Karavali Utsava includes the following events:
- Dec 21–31: Helitaxi at Maryhill Helipad (Rs 4500 per head)
- Dec 28–29: Two-day Beach Festival at Tannirbhavi and Panambur beaches
- Dec 22–Jan 19: Robotic Butterfly Exhibition at Kadri Park (4 PM to 9 PM)
- Jan 4–5: Automobile and Dog Show
- Jan 11–12: Yuva Utsava at Kadri Park to encourage youth participation
- Jan 18–19: International Kite Festival at Tannirbhavi Beach
Other dignitaries present at the event included additional deputy commissioner Dr Santhosh Kumar G, assistant commissioner Harshvardhan, Beary Sahitya Academy president Umar U H, and Tulu Sahitya Academy president Tharnath Gatty Kapikad.
