Sep 28: Dakshina Kannada reports six Covid cases, four infections in Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 28: Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday, September 28, reported six new coronavirus cases while four cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,37,021 out of which 30 are currently active. As many as 10 patients were discharged on September 28.

No deaths were reported on September 28. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,860.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 0.83 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Four coronavirus cases were reported on September 28.The total active Covid cases are 24.

A total of 10,90,724 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,85,334 have received both doses and 2,88,170 people have received booster doses.

Udupi registered three cases while Karkala added one case and Kundapur zero.
