Mangalore: Amma's Devotees Launch Clean City Campaign

Mangalore, May 3: As many as hundred followers of Mata Amritanandamayi participated in the ’Clean Mangalore’ campaign which was launched on Tuesday May 3. The campaign was conducted as part of Matha Amritanandamayi’s dream project ‘Amala Bharatam’.
The aim of the campaign is to eradicate mosquito breeding in various places of the city and also to maintain a clean environment. All enthusiastically participated in this cleanness drive. Amma, on her two-day visit to the city had initiated the cleanliness drive in association with the district administration to make the city clean.
At the Satsang, Bhajana programme held at Amritha Vidyala in Bolur on Sunday May 1, she had distributed handkerchiefs and book marks with the theme of ‘cleanliness’ to the students of Amrita Vidyalayam and had stressed the importance of maintaining cleanness. She had said "we all have the responsibility of handing over the nature to the next generation."
Mayor Praveen, health officers Manjayya Shetty, Basavraj, corporator Naveen and former mayor Ganesh Hosabettu among others were present.
