Kuwait: 'Baila Fiesta' – Mandd Sobhann Troupe Arrives for Mangalorean Day

Kuwait, May 5: Konkani's topmost Baila troupe, headed by ‘Baila King’ Eric Ozario, arrived at Kuwait international airport late night on Wednesday May 4, along with his team members, Joyce Ozario, and singers, Zeena Pereira, Prakash D'Souza, musicians, Alwyn Fernandes, Roshan D'Souza, Sachin, Cajetan, Richard Monteiro, and others.

On behalf of the organizers, Prashant D'Souza and Pascal Pinto, along with other members of the organizing committee, extended a warm welcome to the artistes.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Eric Ozario promised the audience a gala time during the 'Mangalorean Day' where ‘Baila Fest’ will be the prime attraction.


"It has been long since we performed here. Baila music is liked by one and all, and it does not have any language or cultural barrier. We are here to give the best entertainment, and our team is fully prepared to entertain audience in Kuwait," said Eric Ozario.

Prashant D'Souza, who is a champion in organizing high profile Bollywood shows here, is organizing a Mangalorean event in Kuwait for the first time. "This is our first Mangaloren or Konkani show here. Our experience in organizing professional shows with Bollywood and other topmost artistes from India has given us enough confidence to organize this show. We hope Konkani music lovers will appreciate the show and support this event," Prashant said.

Compere, Stan Alvares, and Prachar Sanchalan president, Roy Castelino, have already arrived in Kuwait on Tuesday night.

The visiting artistes will be supported by the highly talented local stars, former member of Mandd Sobhann singing troupe and popular Konkni singer, Rony D'Cunha, Joy Fernandes, Ritesh Ozario, runner-up of 'Gulf Voice of Mangalore', Warren D'Souza, and Wanisha Fernandes. They will be adding spice to the show. This is the first Baila show being organized in Kuwait, and also the first Konkani programme being organized in open-air.

Stany Alvares, well-known compere from Mangalore, and regular member of Mandd Sobhann, will compere the event.

‘Baila Fest’ will present 20 fast, jumpy, and exciting Baila numbers, old popular Baila numbers, and Baila Masala towards the end. It will be an unforgettable evening of good, qualitative and feel-good music for all the Mangaloreans living in Kuwait.

The event will be held at the Touristic Garden, Jleeb Al-Shyoukh, Kuwait here on Friday May 6 from 3.00 pm onwards.
