Moodbidri: 68 Couples Take Wedding Vows at Mass Marriage in Mundkur

Moodbidri, May 6: As many as 68 couples tied the knot at a mass marriage ceremony organized by Mundkur Mulladka Guruprasad Raghu T Shetty and Nalini Raghu Shetty couple under the auspices of Guruprasad Charitable Trust at Shree Durgaparameshwari temple near Mundkur here on Friday May 6.
The Shetty couple distributed mangalsutras and gifts to the couples. They personally met the couples and blessed them.
There was no limit to the number of attendees from both brides' and grooms' families. The marriage rituals were held irrespective of caste considerations.
Aikala Harish Shetty, MLA Gopal Bhandary, Kateel Laxminarayana Asranna among others were present. The mass marriage programme was appreciated by all, especially as it was carried out by an individual. There was no stage programme.
The volunteers arranged to avail an amount of Rs 10,000 to the newly-wedded couple under the provision of ‘Simple Marriage Act’.
