Mangalore: Audio Album of Tulu Movie 'Oriyardori Asal' Released Amid Fanfare

Mangalore, May 9: The audio release function of ‘Oriyardori Asal’, the much-awaited Tulu comedy movie directed by Vijay Kumar Kodiabail, was held at City Centre Mall here on Monday May 9 at 6 pm.
"The Tulu film industry has to attain greater glory in the coming years," said Vijay Kumar. "Tulu theatre is very successful and the media has played a pivotal role in providing the theatre with a new dimension," he added.
"Unfortunately, the Tulu movie industry has not been as popular as Tulu theatre. This has to be changed and more Tulu movies should be produced. For this, the support of the people is very important," added Vijay Kumar.
“From this year on, efforts will be made to produce or direct four to five Tulu movies,” he announced.
“The drama ‘Oriyaridori Asal’ was penned by me 25 years ago and has been staged at the national and international level. It fills me with immense pleasure to release the movie now,” added Vijay Kumar.
The music CD of the movie was released in a unique way by famous magician Kudroli Ganesh. Flower petals were given to all the chief guests and they were asked to put the petals in a ‘magic vessel.’ After all the petals were put in the vessel, the music CD materialized out of it.
On the occasion, the first CD was auctioned off. The auction, which began at Rs 500 ended at Rs 18,000 with Kumar N Bangera of Kumar's International winning the bid.
“Working with Vijay Kumar Kodiabail and other cast members of ‘Oriyaridori Asal’ was a proud moment for me,” said Likith Shetty, hero of the movie.
Shetty debuted in the Kannada movie ‘Parole’. His role in the movie was widely acclaimed.
He has also anchored for ‘U2 Live’ music channel for three years and has done 1,500 episodes. ‘Ogarane Dabbi,’ the cookery show, broadcast on Zee Kannada is also anchored by him.
“Working for ‘Oriyaradori Asal’ was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The people of Mangalore are very sweet,” added Shetty.
“Having worked in Kannada movies, the offer for a role in a Tulu film made me curious,” said Ramya Barna, the heroine of the movie.
“It was an amazing experience altogether. All the artistes were like my family members,” added Ramya who debuted in the movie ‘Hudugaru’ and will also be seen in ‘Pramatma’ and ‘Life Istene’.
The movie will be released either on Saturday May 21 or Friday May 27, in Mangalore. The music has been directed by AK Vijay. SP Balasubramaniam, Udit Narayan, and Guru Kiran have sung in the movie.
The other actors in the movie include Naveen D Padil, Arvind Bolar, Rekha Das, Suresh Anchan, Chaitra, Rajesh Bantwal, Lakshmi Devi, and Santosh Shetty.
Roopa Vijay Kumar, Walter Nandalike, editor-in-chief, daijiworld.com, corporator Naveenchandra, bodybuilder Raymond D’Souza, and Suresh Anchan were present at the release function.
On the occasion, branded watches were given to the winners of the movie contest which was conducted by ‘RED FM’, radio channel.
