British Hotels Are Overpriced, says Lonely Planet

London, May 11 (IANS) Many hotels, restaurants and tourist attractions in Britain are "overpriced" and "lack quality", according to the Lonely Planet guide to Britain.

However, the country may be a good bargain for foreigners because of the weak economy, the Daily Express reported.

David Else wrote in the Great Britain guide: "Brits' wallets are struggling to take the strain. Some of Britain's tourism industry just doesn't deliver."

He advised tourists to shun overpriced restaurants and choose instead a curry worth five pounds or a pie in a pub.
