Mangalore : No Question of Quitting Politics - Janardhan Poojary
Mangalore, May 15, DHNS : Former MP Janardhan Poojary urged the BJP High Command to change the leadership in Karnataka within 24 hours to avoid ‘Operation Kamala’ and to save the BJP government in Karnataka.
Addressing a press meet here on Saturday, he said with the Supreme Court nullifying the disqualification of 16 rebel MLAs, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and Speaker K G Bopaiah who recommended the disqualification of MLAs should tender resignation owning accountability.
If the BJP High Command fails to change the leadership, then they will be committing a blunder. If they fail to change the leadership, people will not respect the party. If they continue to support the corrupt Chief Minister, then people of the state will not believe in it. Using the special power, the Governor should dismiss the State government in order to prevent ‘Operation Kamala’ in the state once again, he said.
“I had asked Chief Minister to take a challenge that if all the three by election seats are won by the BJP, then I will quit politics. Unfortunately, the Chief Minister had not accepted the challenge. Hence, there is no question of quitting,” he said.
He said DMK had won all the by elections in Tamil Nadu. However, it reversed during the Assembly elections. Similarly, the BJP and the Yeddyurappa will lose their power in the next election. Byelection is different from Assembly election, he added.
Lauding Mamata Banerjee for her victory in West Bengal, he said she is a powerful woman and she should be given all the credit for the thumping victory.
‘CM most corrupt person in world’
Former MP Janardhan Poojary sarcastically said that Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa should be conferred Bharath Ratna award for being the most corrupt person in the world. He is the most corrupt Chief Minister, the people of Karnataka and the country ever saw in the history, he added.
