Bangalore, May 16: In a bid to support governor's recommendation to suspend the state assembly, Congress and JD(S) MLAs in the state have decided to tender mass resignation, if the centre rejects the special report sent by governor H R Bharadwaj to impose President's rule in the state.
Congress legislators and leaders, led by state Congress chief Parameshwar, who held a meeting in a private hotel in Bangalore have reportedly decided to send their resignation letters to the high command. This move could put more pressure on the Congress high command to take the governor's report seriously.
It is also gathered that both Congress and JD(S) MLAs will be flying to New Delhi soon to parade in front of President Pratibha Patil and to convey her that the political scenario in the state has worsened and money power has been playing a major role in state administration, and therefore, the present state government needs to be dismissed.
Top Congress leaders, Siddaramaiah, C K Jaffer Sharief, R V Deshpande, Motamma, Ugrappa and other leaders attended the meeting.
It is also gathered that, JD(S) MLAs too are planning on the same lines, and both Congress and JD(S) leaders are expected to meet on Tuesday May 17.
