Mangalore: Veteran CPM Leader, M H Krishnappa, No More

Mangalore, May 17: Senior CPM leader and freedom fighter, M H Krishnappa (88) breathed his last in a private hospital here on Monday 16 after a brief illness. He is survived by four sons including advocate, Yashwant Maroli, and three daughters.
Krishnappa, who was working for the Indian Navy, took part in the freedom struggle of the country under the leadership of the Communist Party of India. He worked tirelessly for the party, and also discharged duty as its state secretary. He led the leftist agitation of the farmers in Karnataka coast. He had sincerely worked for the proper implementation of Land Reforms Act and against injustices suffered by farmers in the hands of land owners.
Krishnappa’s wife had died about four months ago.
Krishnappa had worked with labour leaders like Ramachandra Rao and B V Kakkillaya for the working class.
