Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, May 18: Relating to the killing of Sullia KVG Medical College administrative officer (AO), A S Ramakrishna, the district sessions court here granted anticipatory bail to Nagesh Kumar, a Madikeri-based advocate, on Tuesday May 17. The policemen suspect the role of this lawyer relating to the conspiracy hatched to eliminate Ramakrishna.

The police personnel had been trying to arrest the advocate, after allegedly getting information that he had played a major role in helping Dr Renuka Prasad, main accused, and other accused, in the murder plan. In the court, he argued that he has been a practicing advocate at Madikeri since the last two decades, and that he was a class mate of Dr Renuka Prasad when studying in Mangalore. He claimed that he was wrongly being framed by the policemen in this case.

Lawyer, P P Hegde, represented Nagesh Kumar in the court.

In the meanwhile, Sullia police have approached Puttur court, with an request to hand over Dr Renuka Prasad to police custody. Dr Prasad is currently in judicial custody. This application is being taken up today for consideration.
