Udupi, May 18: A series of road mishaps occurred on NH 17, owing to sparse rains in the district here on Tuesday May 17 night.

A tempo truck that was plying from Kerala to Goa overturned near Akashwani Tower at Brahmavar, near here on Wednesday May 18 morning.

A tanker that was plying from Mangalore – Kundapur overturned near K G Road, on NH 17, Brahmavar on Tuesday night when the driver lost control over the vehicle.  Both the driver and the cleaner survived with bruises.

The ongoing four-lane conversion works along NH 17 and lack of sign boards to alert the motorists are causing nightmares while driving especially on rain-soaked roads in the nights.

Always same problem even I had fell from my bike by slipping from edge of road   Government should put yellow border line as if in gulf or other countries and should put fine who cross that.Automatically accidents will stop.

    NH 17 is now NH66
The change of numbers hasn't helped in preventing accidents-as road-widening without proper systems has proved accident prone.
