Udupi, Dec 7: World soil day was celebrated in St Cecily’s English medium higher primary school Udupi. Students of class 2C made everyone aware of the fact that there can be no life without soil and no soil without life.
Sr Maria Philomena A C addressed the students and urged them to preserve soil by not throwing plastic into the soil, since plastic is not biodegradable material.”Hundred years from now what will happen to us if we destroy our mother earth which has been preserved by our forefathers? Surely we will have to hunt for water to quench our thirst and food to satisfy our hunger. A day will come when even water will become a very costly commodity. We may have money in hand but pure drinking water to satisfy man's thirst may not be available. Hence it is our responsibility to save our soil for a better tomorrow. Hence the soil day became an eye opener to think seriously to save our mother earth. Let's become those ambassadors to preserve our nature. Nurture nature for our future”.
Students actively took part in the activities organized as part of world soil day.
