Mangaluu, Jul 17: The BCom NSS Unit of Srinivas University successfully organised an innovative and eco-conscious competition titled “Bottle Scape – Where Waste Turns into Art” on July 12. The event was conducted in celebration of National Skill Development Day, observed on July 15 every year.

The main objective of the competition was to raise awareness among students about the importance of recycling and reusing plastic materials—particularly plastic bottles, which are among the most common pollutants. The event encouraged students to turn waste into creativity by crafting meaningful and artistic pieces using only waste plastic bottles.

The competition took place from 1 pm to 2 pm and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various classes. Teams of 1 to 4 members showcased remarkable creativity by transforming discarded plastic into decorative, functional, and thought-provoking art pieces.

The event was inaugurated by the NSS coordinator of the B.Com Department, who highlighted the harmful effects of plastic on the environment and stressed the need for sustainable practices. Students were inspired to view waste not as garbage but as a resource for innovation.
