Bangalore: Won't Utter Single Word against Bhardwaj - Yeddyurappa

Bangalore, May 24 (IANS): Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa Tuesday said he would not "utter a single word" against Governor H R Bhardwaj, leaving the campaign for his recall to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

"I will not utter a single word against him. But the party has full freedom to carry on what it feels right," he told reporters here.

This is not the first time that Yeddyurappa has made such a declaration. In the past too he had said he would refrain from talking about the governor but went back on his word within days, slamming Bhardwaj for "needlessly criticising my government".

Yeddyurappa and the BJP had launched a campaign for Bhardwaj's recall following his recommendation to dismiss the state government. The central government Sunday rejected Bhardwaj's recommendation. It has also ruled out recalling Bhardwaj.

On his relations with the governor, Yeddyurappa said: "As long as he sits in that chair, we have to give respect and I will act accordingly".

The chief minister said there was no need for him to seek another trust vote following the Supreme Court restoring the membership of 16 lawmakers -- 11 from the BJP and five independents. They were disqualified in October last for rebelling against Yeddyurappa.

He said he had "clear majority in the assembly" as the 11 lawmakers had expressed their support to him.

    Waste of Time ?
Then why u waste almost two years for blaming others.
if ur honest work hard for karnataka. and tell ur cabinet minister also don't. waste time for blaming others.
Cong and JDS have a right to talk against ur party that is why called "opposition" parties'
but it's ur duty to work hard for people. all two years ur running Delhi and visiting many temple.
why ur not visiting govt. hospital, govt schools, govt. busstand, Govt Offices, some police station. if ur not visiting and ur visiting temple what is the use.
people elected u and u should know what is ur job. there is some 3rd class minister in ur cabinet why don't. u take action like our PM took.
first of all u have to clean ur own house. then only u can clean others house. " if u don't. know this simple. then ur visiting temple is waste. if u work hard for people then no need to go temple, people will pray for u.

Thank you Chidu for personally reprimanding Yeddurappa and raising issues of corruption, illegal mining and discrimination / oppression of minorities in Karnataka.
Governor you have a great job in appraising the Center. Yeddurappa has to relent and behave this time.

Mr. Yeddyurappa’s decision not to say anything about Gov. Bhardwaj is a very smart decision. Mr. Yedurappa has (and his popular BJP party) has the full support of the majority of the Karnataka. The UPA (and cronies) can’t harm him anymore.
