Udupi: Webportal for organ, body, blood donation launched by MAHE

Udupi, Dec 25: Webportal for organ, body and blood donation was launched at MAHE on December 23, by honorable vice chancellor Lt gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh of MAHE. This web portal is linked to MAHE Edu website under the information tab.

Many people are not aware how to donate organs and body. So, this web portal will give them an overview how to do that and why there is a need to donate.


Features of this web portal are:

• Info about all the organs which are transplanted in hospitals under MAHE.
• Info about body donations in medical colleges under MAHE.
• Registration forms which people can fill, take a print and later upload it in the portal itself.
• FAQs regarding each donation.

Vice chancellor of MAHE said “This web portal will create an awareness about donation of organs, body and blood. This will certainly increase the number of donations which are the need of an hour. FAQs which are incorporated in the web portal are very much needed as they will address the queries which people might have in their mind while donating.”

Dr Chandni Gupta, coordinator of the web portal said “As the technology is advancing communication has become easier and people use gadgets a lot to enhance their knowledge. This web portal will provide the users with the most relevant information about donating organs and body. This portal can be easily accessed by anyone and is user friendly”
