Mangalore, May 30: The second edition of Jane D’Souza’s 'Cook Book' is now available with 100 new recipes incorporated in it. Priced at Rs 250, the book is an exclusive compilation of recipes from Mangalorean cuisine as well as popular Indian and international cuisines. Puddings, cakes, Christmas savories, masala powders and sauces are all featured in this book.
Recipes for favourite sandwich spreads as well as an exclusive page on useful list of weights, measures, and their equivalents are an addition to the new edition brought out by Fountainhead Publications, Mangalore.
Jane D’Souza of Mangalore is a cookery enthusiast whose cook book, first published in December 2003 was an instant success and has already seen three reprints.
A winner of various cookery contests including daijiworld.com cookery contest, Jane has several other hobbies. She is the vice-president of the D K Philately Association, former president of the Rotary Anns’ Club of Mangalore, member of the Ladies’ Club, Mangalore, and Mahila Sabha, Mangalore.
She is also an ardent gardener and knowledgeable in the art of bonsai. Jane’s cookery columns appear regularly in Konkani periodicals. She has presented her skills in cookery shows on TV and has judged many a cookery competition and conducted cookery demonstrations.
She is well travelled and has worked for several years as an executive secretary with a British firm in the Middle East.
