Kundapur: Bangle store gutted in fire, loss estimated at Rs 70 lacs

Kundapur, Jan 10: Fire broke out in a bangle store here during broad daylight and several lacs worth of goods were gutted on Tuesday, January 10 afternoon.

Mahalaxmi Bangles near Koteshwar Pattabhi temple here on the main road, is the fancy store gutted in fire.

The local people tried to douse the fire with water from a pump. Fire brigade also reached immediately. However the fire could not be extinguished soon. The fire that spread fast after catching plastic and nylon material turned everything to ashes in no time.

A person named Jogi was running the shop in the building belonging to Shekar Poojary. The fire broke out when Jogi went for lunch in the afternoon. Goods worth about Rs 70 lacs were burnt in the fire.

An electrical short circuit is suspected to be the cause of the mishap.

    So many burning incidents at regular intervals, attributed to short-circuit, cannot be a coincidence, but for obvious reasons which should be understood!
