Bantwal: Karinjeshwara temple may be declared sensitive zone after DC report– Minister Sunil Kumar

Bantwal, Jan 10: “I have held discussions with chief minister Basavaraj Bommai over declaring historic Karinjeshwara temple as a sensitive zone. The government will be taking a decision after obtaining a report from the deputy commissioner,” said district in-charge minister V Sunil Kumar.

He was speaking to news reporters after visiting the Karinjeshwara temple along with Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik.

“The local people, devotees and people from local organizations have informed me and the MLA about the dangers to the temple structure by illegal stone quarries. Therefore, it is decided to declare this as the religious sensitive area,” he said.

“The temple will be improved by the department of tourism and declared as a tourist spot,” he said.

“Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik has spoken to me about restricting stone quarries and developing the temple. I have spoken about it to the chief minister,” he said.

Karinjeshwara temple managing committee president Chandrashekar Shetty, Venkataramana Machintaya, Ajith Shetty, Jayalaxmi, Sudarshan Baja, Narasimha Mani, Ravi Kempugudde, Sharath Kumar, Ramesh, Ganesh Rai, Mani, Purushotham Shetty, Pushparaj Chowta, Madhava Mave, Harish Prabhu, Ramakrishna Mayya, Ganesh Bhat, geology department’s Mahadeshwara, village accountant Asha Mehandale, Mescom executive engineer Prashanth Rai and others were present.

    I like the simplicity of Rajesh Naik . He involves everyone and has worked a lot in developing Bantwal area. iam surprised every where they have good roads in the rural areas and is well connected .
