Beltangady: 27-year-old’s body found in sitting posture near river dam

Beltangady, Jan 11: The mortal remains of a youth were found near the slit of a river dam in a sitting posture on Tuesday January 10 evening here.

The deceased is identified as Kiran Ganiga (27), a resident of Ayodhyanagar in Layila village of the taluk. His mortal remains were found near the slit of a dam built on the Somawathi river on Sangathinagar road.

Beltangady sub-inspector Arjun and his team conducted a spot inspection and the mortal remains of Kiran Ganiga were shifted to Beltangady government hospital for an autopsy.

Layila gram panchayat vice-chairman Ganesh and the GP member Aravind co-operated with the police with spot investigation.

The police are investigating the cause of Kiran's death.
