Fall in temperature, chilling weather prevails in Mangaluru, Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jan 12: Minimum temperature is reduced in twin districts and the intensity of chill has increased considerably.

On Wednesday morning, extreme chill coupled with cloudy weather prevailed in Dakshina Kannada district. In rural areas, the chill was unbearable.

Mangaluru airport recorded a maximum temperature of 32.8 deg C and minimum of 19.6 deg C. This is 2 deg C less than the usual temperature.

Panambur recorded maximum temperature of 35.5 deg C. This is 3.2 deg C more than usual temperature of this time of the year. Minimum temperature was 17.6 deg C which is 3.6 deg C less than usual.

Madikeri recorded 10.9 deg C and 29.6 deg C minimum and maximum temperatures. Chikkamagaluru and Shivamogga recorded minimum temperatures of 13 and 11.6 deg C.

According to forecast of meteorological department, the chilly weather will continue for some more days.

    What cold weather in Manglore ,chill?Ok we will exchange the place.Inbetween I like cold weather than hot dry weather which brings more uncomfortable diseases and Mosquito bites Here we are now enjoying warm weather than cold.Only 9 /10 cgrad.Every year it is getting warm.Hope end January will be cold and freezing..Even they had to cancel ski sport too.

    Rudolf Rodrigues, Mumbai What chilly? Shekchilly? In Bidar temperature had gone down to 5.7°C somedays earlier, now What they meantto say may be🌶 weather ! Mangalore is ok but not cold at all. Betterthan March April himidity.

    They are reporting the temperature of Mangalore. Not Bidar. That way it will be -25° somewhere. SO it doesn't mean Bidar is hot in comparison. Compared to our normal hot weather this is chilly

    Sirji, it's not chilly but pleasant so enjoy it and pray the harsh unbearable summer gets delayed!! BTW, recently in Kanpur around 98 people across various ages died within a span of few days all due to heart problems and cerebral strokes, which our wise doctors are attributing to the cold wave!!
