Hyderabad, May 31 (PTI) The Telugu Desam Party has challenged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to immediately convene a special session of the Legislative Assembly to face a no-confidence motion.
The TDP, during its recent three-day annual conclave 'Mahanadu', announced that it would move a no-confidence motion against the Congress government on the farmers' and other "anti-people" issues.
Reacting to this, the Chief Minister said his government was "strong enough" to face the no-trust motion and prove its strength.
"If the Chief Minister is so gutsy, let him convene a special session of the Assembly and face the no-confidence motion," TDP politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said in a statement here today.
Yanamala wanted other Opposition parties Telangana Rashtra Samiti, Bharatiya Janata Party and YSR Congress party to come out with their stand on the no-trust motion.
