Bantwal: BJP's publicity vehicle collides with bike, rider killed, foot march called off

Bantwal, Jan 17: The BJP’s publicity vehicle collided against a bike near Narahari Hill of Kalladka killing the bike rider on Monday January 16.

The deceased is identified aa Vijith (35), a resident of Beltangady. The Isuzu vehicle had arrived from Telangana for the foot march organized by BJP MLA Rajesh Naik and was driven by a driver of Telangana origin. The vehicle was moving from Melkar to Kalladka and the bike was approaching from the opposite direction. A seriously injured Vijith was taken to Thumbay hospital, but he succumbed.

As the youth died in the accident, the foot march was called off. MLA Rajesh Naik visited the hospital and consoled the members of deceased youth’s family. The BJP activists also visited the hospital.

A case in this connection is registered in Bantwal traffic police station.
