Puttur: 46-year-old tyre shop labourer dies in mould disc blast

Puttur, Jan 19: A labourer died after suffering serious injury following a tyre mould disc blast at a tyre shop office near Gandhi Park here on Wednesday.

The deceased is identified as Rajesh (46), a labourer who is a resident of Alankaru village in Kadaba taluk. The tyre mould disc accidentally blasted and Rajesh who was standing close to the spot of the incident got seriously injured. He was immediately rushed to a hospital. But, Rajesh breathed his last on the way to hospital itself, it is learnt.

Due to the blast of the mould disc, the walls of the tyre shop have been destroyed.

Uppinangady police inspected the spot of the blast.

A case has been filed by the police based on a complaint filed by the victim's brother-in-law.
