Mangaluru: Art exhibition held at Lourdes Central School

Mangaluru, Jan 30: LCS Art Day celebration began invoking God’s blessings on January 28. Lourdes Central School (LCS) offers painting, music, dance, drama and so on for students to develop knowledge and skills under art integrated Curriculum. The principal, Fr Robert D’Souza inaugurated the Art Day by unveiling the poster on ‘Warli Art’.

The principal ignited the minds of all Lourdites on Arts Integration which is an approach in teaching students construct and demonstrate understanding through an art form. He also stated, "Art has the ability to connect us to our thoughts, feelings, perceptions, our outer realities and experiences. Art educates us, inspires us, lifts our spirits, continues to help us learn and grow as people."

Aditya Nishanth of Class 8D presented the significance of the day. The school choir with their melodious voice added beauty to the celebration. Prapthi Rathish of Class 8D compered the programme beautifully under the guidance of her class teacher Padmashree Bhat.

Fr Robert D’Souza inaugurated the art exhibition with a live drawing which was indeed an attraction of the day. The budding artists exhibited their variety of art works like aipen art, resin art, dot art, mandala, bottle painting, acrylic, pencil sketching’s, crochet and so on. Viewing the exhibition was truly a treat to the eyes of all the Lourdites. The art teachers Thyagraj and Revathi were appreciated by the principal for their hardwork and art work. All students gave their whole hearted support to make LCS Art Day a grand success.
