Kasargod, Feb 2: One person was killed in an accident between a bus and a car in Periya on Thursday, February 2 evening.

Vaishak (30) of Naduvetta Paare in Periya was killed in the mishap. His relative, Aarti (26) who was travelling with him in Alto car was seriously injured. She has been admitted to a hospital in Kannur.

The car was completely crushed in the accident.

Both of them were stuck in the mangled car. They were pulled out and shifted to the hospital but Vaishak had already passed away. The accident took place when the car plying towards Kasaragod collided head-on with the private bus coming from the opposite direction.

Vaishak’s body has been kept in the mortuary of the district hospital and will be handed over to the relatives after the post-mortem.

Vaishak used to run an interlock business in Periya. Aarti is a third year BSc student of a college in Kasargod.

More than 10 passengers in the bus were injured in the collision and are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
