Mangalore diocese holds unique ecumenical gathering of bishops

Mangaluru, Feb 3: On the background of ecumenical week (January 18-25) and Diocesan Ecumenical Sunday, celebrated on January 29, Fr Rupesh Madtha, diocesan secretary for Ecumenical Commission and secretary for Mangalore Christian Council organised an ecumenical gathering of bishops on Thursday, February 2 here in Kankanady.

Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, bishop of Mangalore paid a cordial visit to the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Bishop Yakoob Mar Elias, diocese of Brahmavar, Bishop’s House at Kankanady, Mangaluru.

There was a short prayer service, a cordial talk and exchange of gifts.

A few priests of the Malankara Orthodox Church witnessed this unique ecumenical visit.
