Mangaluru, Feb 7: Mohammed Kabeer Ullal, who filed a complaint against corruption at Ullal police station personnel alleged that he is being harassed by police commissioner N Shashi Kumar over repeated notice.

Addressing media on Tuesday February 7, he said, “I had filed a complaint with the Lokayukta against Ullal police station personnel which includes inspector Sandeep and sub inspector Pradeep over corrupt practices. I had also mentioned the direct involvement of the police commissioner.

“When I have filed the complaint against the police commissioner over corruption, how can the Lokayukta ask the police commissioner to examine and submit report? Is it possible for me to get justice here?

“I have all the evidence of corruption against the three. A complainant has to meet the police commissioner before filing any important cases in the police station here. He has created an atmosphere of fear. Police stations are to protect people and to not involve in corruption.

“I have filed a complaint again with the Lokayukta stating how is it possible for them to seek report from the police commissioner who is an important part of the complaint. The police commissioner is repeatedly calling, sending notices to me or sends cops to my residence for enquiry.

“I will not step back from the case and I will fight until I get justice,” said Kabeer.

When the Police Commissioner himself is the accused in the complaint, the Lokayukta should have forward the complaint to the higher officer for enquiry.

This looks very murky and hands of the accused seem deep in shit... It is pathetic for the commissioner even to have his name mentioned in the complaint... Public office of that stature should attract respect from all quarters... This is not a good news at all...
