Kundapur: No moral right for BJP leaders to question Congress’ achievements – B K Hariprasad

Kundapur, Feb 9: “BJP leaders, who have sold several public enterprises that were established during the rule of the Congress, does not have the moral right to question the contribution of Congress to the country,” said B K Hariprasad, leader of opposition of legislative assembly.

Hariprasad was speaking at the Prajadhwani programme that was organized under the aegis of Block Congress committee on Wednesday evening near Shastri Circle in the city.

Hariprasad further said, “As Congress party gave stress for social justice, a commoner like Narendra Modi became the prime minister of India. However, PM Modi is more concerned about his supporters than the country. They fooled the public of India with the promise of paying Rs 15 lac in their bank accounts. Now they are suspecting how Congress is going to fulfil the promises made in their manifesto. We are committed to fulfil our promises just by stopping the 40% commission business in Karnataka.

“The Congress, which has patriotism and culture of the nation, need not learn lessons from people who opposed the freedom fight of India. The credit of making India, which has seven main religions of the world, a laboratory of religious politics, should undoubtedly go to the BJP. None of the children of any politicians die for politics or religious friction or end up in prison. The BJP leaders who incite poor children and youth to take up such way, should send their own children. Do you need the administration of the BJP, whose president teaches political lesson of love jihad instead of speaking on development or patriotic Congress government that considers all Indians as equal? The voters have to decide on this point during the elections. If Congress comes to power, construction of Kundapur-Gangolli bridge will be given priority,” he said.

MLC Manjunath Bhandary said, “Two elections manifestos are announced by the Congress party for the upcoming legislative assembly elections. One is centred on the all-round development of the state and the other is centred around particular geological regions. Grihajyoti, Grahalaxmi schemes, Rs 2500 crore grant for development of coastal region, IT park at Mangaluru, Rs 10 lac insurance scheme for fishermen, schemes for development of fishermen, establishment of separate corporations for the development of Billava and Bunt communities at an annual grant of Rs 250 crore etc are planned.”

Former MLA Gopal Poojary said, “The ruling BJP is trying to fool people by cancelling the ration cards that were provided during the Congress regime. The decision of providing 300 litres of kerosene subsidy taken by the earlier Siddaramaiah government is thrown to the wind. Only for political reasons, the BJP says that it will resolve the issues of fishermen. Actually, they are not concerned at all. The BJP earned political mileage in the last elections cashing on the death of Paresh Mesta. Now after the CBI report, they are not opening their mouth. The BJP, which wins elections through lies and false techniques, forgets its promises once the elections are over. What happened to the promise of airport at Byndoor, medical college, engineering college and joining of five rivulets? How those who sell airports can think of building airports?”

AICC secretary Rozy Joan, former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, and KPCC secretary M A Gafoor also spoke on the occasion.

District Congress committee leaders Dinesh Puthran, Alevoor Harish Kini, K Vikas Hegde, Raju S Poojary, Devaki P Sannaiah, Prasanna Kumar Kerady, Kolkebail Kishan Kumar Hegde, Dinesh Hegde Molahalli, Beejadi Ashok Poojary, Shyamala Bhandary, Surendra Shetty, B Heriyanna, Malyadi Shivarama Shetty, Sadananda Shetty Kedoor, Devananda Shetty Basrur, Madan Kumar Uppunda, Hariprasad Shetty Kanmakki, Shankar Kunder Thota, Roshan Kumar Shetty, Saurabh Ballal, Icchithartha Shetty, Shekhar Poojary Byndoor, Munaf Kodi and NSUI leader Sujan Shetty were present.

District Congress president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor welcomed the gathering. Block Congress committee chief secretary Vinod Casto compered.

Readers, wonder what has the much hyped " Bharat Jodo " marathon, achieved for the ailing INC.. . Tragically they could not even unite the opposition under one umbrella !! The prospects for the grand old party is acutely dismal, considering the negativity factor, it has able to garner from the majority community !!!

Readers, the ailing grand old party, is widely regarded by a majority of citizens in the coastal region of Karnataka as a mortal foe, due to its dubious association, with radicalised organisations.... Apparently this is the fundamental reason, why they continue to suffer humiliating defeats in every election....

You have bhakths commenting here against congress, saying its done nothing. 9 out of 10, their parents or ancestors were farm labourers in the past, during cong they got land due to Indira Gandhi policies. Those parents stood in ration ques that gave wheat, rice, kerosene oil for years. Those parents enrolled their kids into school, without any fees to pay. You can blame congress for many things, but 8yrs of BJP govt. is one of the worse country ever experienced.

SAN, Mangaluru Indeed few have lost land, but many lakhs have families benefited from it. Those who lost land were already been rich, so they could live without it as well. Currently, today those opposing congress are not those lost land, but one who benefited from it. That is the harsh truth.

First of all, congress has to forget Kundapura constituency until Halady Srinivas Shetty is alive. Secondly this fellow who has never won a election in his life should do what he is known to do the best whcih is bucket to AICC instead of campaigning for congress, that too in Kundapura.

Yes very true... It is for we the people to decide... This time it will be the choice of right candidates that will win the seats... People are fed up of false promises and misbehavior of elected representatives post election... High level of public sanctity will be pre-requisite for the prospective hopefuls...
