Karkala, Feb 10: The friction between personnel of KSRTC and private buses on the issue of timings has reached its peak in the bus stand in the city.

Both are trying to attract customers and the competition leads to fist fight sometimes. A case is already registered in city police station of a KSRTC driver and private bus conductor involving in public fight, the video of which went viral on social media.

The KSRTC buses, which were coming only till Bandimath bus station, now arrive at city bus stand also. This has caused stiff competition between private and KSRTC bus personnel. Parking of the buses also is creating chaos. Issues of number of passengers in buses also is leading to verbal arguments and fist fights.

KSRTC bus drivers and conductors are more decent. The local fellows are taking up the fight for small reasons and they are like camels inside the city and rash outside.

I would rather say KSRTC bus staff are far more disciplined than our private bus staff. Many of our private bus staff use abusive language a lot. Bus passengers and drivers of other vehicles come across their abusive behaviour many a times. Police have to warn these private bus staff to correct their behaviour or else face face heavy punishments.

looking at the bright side of it - atleast there is competition to provide transportation services, when some of the remote areas of the country are still not connected. Health competition is welcome as long as it doesn't cross the line!

Local service govt buses are cheaper, cleaner and more spacious.... Also the bus ride is quieter with less horn and conductor shouts... However private bus employees will loose an edge due to them.... This must be looked into by officials and find a way to compensate the aggrieved parties...
