Mangaluru, Feb 12: Mangaluru's Ramakrishna Math has given me an identity. I am connected to this Math for the past 17 years. Now, inevitably I should quit this Math. In the future, I will continue as pontiff (Matadeesha) of Jagadgurupeetha in Uttara Kannada",  said Swami Ekagamyananda.

Speaking to journalists here on Sunday, February 12, he said, “I am happy to organise sevaral social programmes including a cleanliness drive. Ramakrishna Math of Mangaluru has supported and cooperated with these kind of activities. The Math has supported a lot in the social programme. I am really grateful to the people of Mangaluru for supporting various programmes.”

He said, “In the future, I will shoulder the responsibility as the pontiff of Jagadgurupeetha in Uttara Kannada. This Math has several educational institutions. There are 7,000 to 8,000 students studying in the school run by the Math. This Math has a histroy of over 400 years. Agriculture is the key activity in this Math.This Math has 400 acres of agricultural land. By the end of this month I will join this Math. The name of the Math and other information will be revealed by the institution.” 

“I am not a trustee of Mangala Resource Management Pvt Ltd smart application. Nor I am a director or a shareholder of this application. My role is only to monitor. It is an independent organisation. I am connected to this emotionally,” said Swamiji.

Answering a question, Swamiji said, "Mangala Resource Institute is my dream concept. The organisation is engaged in scientific disposal of solid wastes, green employment generation, and recycling of the resources of the nation. The institute has provided employment to 60 people. Recently, I have inaugurated their office," he said.
