Kasargod, Feb 14: Chemical tests have established that consumption of rat poison caused the death of Manjeshwar Govinda Pai college girl student Anjushree Parvati. She was a resident of Venur in Perumbala.

The final post-mortem report also confirmed it. Anjushree died at a private hospital in Mangaluru on January 7. The tests by forensic laboratory of Kozhikode have confirmed that consumption of rat poison was the cause of Anjushree’s death. The report has reached the investigating team. Police had found a suicide note during the investigations carried out at the residence of the deceased.

Her family members had complained to the Melbaramba station police that the food consumed from a hotel at the outskirts of Kasargod caused her death. Therefore, the police had taken action against the hotel.

However. it is now known after investigations that food did not cause her death. The post-mortem report had indicated that a poisonous substance that entered her body caused the death. Therefore, the internal organs of Anjushree were sent for chemical tests.
