Udupi: Police nab another accused in Sharath Shetty murder case, total hits 5

Udupi, Feb 21: The Kapu police arrested another accused near Panambur beach on Monday, February 20 in connection with the murder of Sharath Shetty (39). Sharath was hacked to death on February 5 in Pangala under the Kapu police station limits. With this, the number of arrested accused in the case has increased to five.

The arrested person has been identified as Nagaraj (19), a resident of Panambur Kalya. He was directly involved in this murder. According to the police, Divesh Shetty, Likhit Kulal, Akash Karkera, Prasanna Shetty were already arrested in this case and remanded to judicial custody for a week.

Nagaraj and Dinesh, Likhit and Akash, who were in police custody, were produced in the Udupi court on Tuesday, February 21 by a police team led by Kapu Police circle inspector K C Poovaiah. The court ordered judicial custody of all these accused for 14 days.

Yogeesh Acharya of Katpadi, the main accused in this murder case, is still absconding.
