46 Percent of Indians Want Rahul Gandhi as PM

Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi

New Delhi, Jun 19: The 'aam aadmi' image seems to be working well for Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, who is being touted as a PM in waiting by his own party members.

A national survey has revealed that as many as 46 percent of Indians feel that Rahul would make a better Prime Minister than Manmohan Singh. About 61 percent of the voters who polled in the 'Mood of the Nation' survey, conducted by LensOnNews.com, rooted for a change in the government at the centre.

Manmohan Singh, meanwhile, got the support of only 34 percent of the voters.

"As many as 46% believe that Rahul Gandhi would make a better prime minister while only 34% think Manmohan Singh should continue."

"Rahul Gandhi is clearly preferred over Manmohan Singh for the position of prime minister," the website said.

The survey, conducted between June 12-16 covered a representative sample of about 3,800 voters across India, with a margin error of four percent.

It is the urban population that wanted the change at the centre, especially young India. The survey clearly suggests that Congress is losing its hold among the more educated Indians.

However, Congress still continues to be favoured by minorities, women, labourers and farmers.

Nevertheless, Narendra Modi is still the preferred choice of most, with 53 percent voting in his favour as against Rahul Gandhi's 46 percent.

Rahul Gandhi belongs to reasonably good family. Most important thing is, he is reasonably a safe man.If somebody has hateredness for congress party, that will be fine. But one can not blame him with abusive words.

The News and the Survey results are quite confusing and not worth believing on the face value. The percentages add to : 46 34 53 =133 . So, there is something fishy ??. One thing is clear from the recent happenings , especially in the media , one group is desperate and hell bent upon in projecting the AMUL BABY as the future PM of the nation. Rahul has a very bad adviser in Digvijay Singh who pulls down the image of the party and Rahul as well.

At the given situation we like it or not though UPA lost its popularity due to numerous scandals and handling the anti corruption movement, they will hold on to power for at least another term till 2019. Definitely Rahul Gandhi will be made Prime Minister in 2014 LS Elections.

If the person is capable of becoming the prime minister what is wrong if he comes from Nehru-Gandhi family . No one knows what a person can do until he does. No one had the previous experience when they became prime ministers for the first time. What happens if an experienced politician with a proven track record of performance turns out to be a hard core corrupt prime minister ?

May be the survey was taken in the neighborhood of 10, Janpath. RG is an inexperienced loud mouth, lacking in maturity. As usual the congress has no other leader than the dynasty. We need someone like Modi or Nitish, with a track record of performance

Media interpretations are heavily flawed. Simply because RG is preferred over MMS does not mean that most ppl want RG as PM. This is substantiated by the fact that Modi of BJP is preferred over RG. Second, you state labourers, farmers etc amongst survey respondents, it is unlikely that majority of this category would be responding to a web based survey.
