Lancy Dantis unanimously elected president of Canara Catholics Fujairah

Fujairah, Mar 28: Canara Catholics Fujairah (CCF), the Konkani community group in Fujairah, held their general body meeting recently in Fujairah Church hall during which the new office bearers were elected.

Lancy Dantis was unanimously elected as the president of Canara Catholics Fujairah for the year 2023-2024.

Hailing from Paladka, Lancy has been residing in Fujairah for quite a few years. He has served CCF in the past under various capacities.

The outgoing president Vincent Barboza thanked everyone for their support and wished success for future activities.

The following new office bearers have been elected for the year 2023-2024:

President: Lancy Dantis
Chief coordinator: Prakash Rodrigues
Treasurer: Roy Veigas
Secretary: Anthony D’Silva
Cultural, choir & sports co-ordinator: Aenson Mathias
Liturgical co-ordinator: Assumpta Britto

Fr Rajan Pushpam, SDB, parish priest and Fr George Vellakadayil, SDB, assistant parish priest of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Fujairah, congratulated the newly elected office bearers. He praised the Mangalurean community for their active participation in all the activities of the church.

Various activities to be held throughout the year were discussed and planned during the meeting.

Lancy thanked all the members for their goodwill and promised to continue the good work.
