New Delhi, Jun 30: Vital information relating to the 2002 Gujarat riots including phone transactions, vehicle logbooks and official movements have been destroyed by the Modi governent. The victims of the riots who are still fighting for justice alleged that the government got rid of te information intentionally.
S B Vakil from the state governent counsel in the Nanavathi Commission said that the records like log books of government vehicles and officials' movement have been destroyed. He alleged that IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt lied about his presence at the meeting convened by Narendra Modi for he was aware that the official records are not to be found.
Mukul Sinha, an advocate said that to destroy evidence of such importance is not only shocking but also illegal.
Victims and other people associated with the communal riot cases are abashed by the governments's admission.
