Dubai, Apr 10: SCENT (Sandhya Creations Event Network Team) and Ambalathere Vision have joined together to present an unique programme titled ‘Dr Vidyabhushana Live in Dubai’ under the event license of Maestro Events LLC on April 23 at 5 pm at JSS Pvt School, Al Safa, Dubai UAE.
Shodhan Prasad of SCENT (Sandhya Creations Event Network Team) & Prabhakar Ambalathere of Ambalathere Vision along with the team members have jointly decided to honour Dr Vidyabhushana with ‘Gaana Kanteerava Antharashtriya Swarna Prashasthi’ award which will be presented during the live show in Dubai.
Dr Vidyabhushana from Karnataka is renowned for his mellifluous voice, rendering the krithis with rich bhava and rare literary enabling the audience to enjoy an aesthetically satisfactory concert. He sings devotional songs, chiefly Haridasa compositions, and carnatic classical music. He has many albums to his credit, mainly devotional songs in Kannada, Tulu and has given concerts all over the world. His first album was titled ‘Dasara Padagalu’ and the 100th titled ‘Tanu Ninnadu Jivana Ninnadu’. Performing for more than 40 years, he has traveled to many countries including a tour across the world. He had initial training in music from his father late Govindacharya and then from Narayana Aithal of Udupi. He had his advance training in music from the great T V Gopalakrishnan of Chennai.
He has given numerous performances in India and abroad. He has been bestowed with many titles including ‘Sangeetha Vidyanidhi’ by the J S Sangeetha Sabha in Mysuru. He is also a ‘Karnataka Rajyothsava Awardee’. He is conferred with ‘Doctorate of Literature’ for his thesis on ‘Haridasa Sahithya & Music’ from Hampi University. There are Hundreds of popular music albums in his credit and are famous worldwide.
Vidyabhushana's emotion charged voice; cascading melody and majestic pace enable the keerthanas to reach the hearts of the rasikas straight with soothing touch.
TICKET RELEASE
The members of the organising core committee had ‘ticket release’ function during the meeting held at banquet hall of Mayamani Restaurant, Al Ghusais wherein the preparations were discussed in detail. Major portion of the tickets are already distributed as innumerable calls for booking were pouring in from the day the announcement of the programme was done. Also, work was allocated to the members who are enthusiastically working towards presenting a unique show in Dubai.
ARRIVING TROUPE
Dr Vidyabhushana will be accompanied by Anirudha Bhat with Mridamgham and Vishawajith with violin whereas other well-known musicians are already chosen from Dubai to assist them. Dr Vidyabhusana’s wife Rama Vidyabushana, son Anirudh and daughter Medha will also be accompanying them.
Dr Vidyabhushana will be presenting very many melodious Kannada and Tulu Dasarapadagalu which will be specially selected for the Dubai audience. Out of the total 3-hour programme, he will shower the audience with 2 hours of non-stop singing.
Local talent Chaitra will also share the stage with few devotional songs.
CLASSICAL TREAT
Classical exponent Roopa Kiran along with her disciples who are residents of Dubai, will be presenting few beautiful classical dances including dance drama which will be feast to the audience. Roopa Kiran is a well-trained classical dancer who had recently been invited and awarded in a function in Mysuru. She has for her credit various dance performances in UAE and have students who are being groomed in the school where she trains them.
MASTER OF CEREMONY
To beautify and present the entire programme, a special invitee from Mangaluru, master of ceremony Manohar Prasad will be arriving to grace the occasion with his skillful presentation. Manohar was serving in Udayavani, as a reporter since 1984, and retired as assistant editor of Udayavani Daily in Mangaluru. after serving the company for 36 years.
While working for Udayavani, Manohar Prasad bagged many awards including Canara Bank Achiever’s Award, Pals Journalism Award, Karnataka state Jaycees Youth Achiever Award, Sandesha Pratistan Extraordinary Achiever Award, Giants International Achiever Award, etc. He had also bagged Top PRO Award from Indian PRO Society, Mangalore – Manipal unit in 1998.
