Lokpal Bill : Congress Calls BJP 'Hypocritical'

Daijiworld Media Network

New Delhi, Jul 1: Congress party spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi on Friday July 1 heavily criticised the BJP on its 'double standards' over the Lokpal issue. His sharp criticism came soon after Anna Hazare met key opposition leaders today in New Delhi.

Earlier in the day Anna Hazare met BJP leaders L K Advani and Sushma Swaraj to discuss the Lokpal Bill, and seek their support on key issues proposed by the civil society.

Talking to media Singhvi said, "Bjp is too ambivalent, childish and hypocritical on the issue."

"BJP is a totally irresponsible party, as it does not have any interest in the Lokpal Bill. It has still not made its stand clear on whether the PM should come under the ambit of Lokpal or not. It wants to plan 'diplomatic' politics and wants to please the civil society members. When we seek their supprt they attack us," he said

"What is BJP's stand on Lokpal Bill? Let them make it public," he challenged.

He also took on Nitin Gadkari, the BJP chief for criticising Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi. "BJP has no moral right to criticise them," he said.

On his party’s stand on the issue of the bringing the office of the Prime Minister and the higher judiciary under the ambit of Lokpal, Singhvi said, "It is subject to Cabinet decision and democratic wish of the Parliament…our stand is clear that the two institutions should not be under the purview of Lokpal."

William Mangalore,BOFORS is a history and talk to the issue of contemporary rather than dead subject!BJP is playing dirty politics @ the moment because it knows the repercussion and the immediate causality would be BJP Govt of Karnataka and more importantly Yeddy in Particular and his dozens of cabinet members in general.BJP has no morality nor acting like an responsible national party. It's mission is divide and rule on the basis of religion and caste. It is quite evident in Karnataka Yeddy concentrating on Lingayuth Mutts and pacifying them against Vokkaligas!!!!Time will soon teach a lesson to BJP for sure.
