Kasargod: Accused sentenced to 33 years imprisonment, fined in POCSO case

Kasargod, Apr 13: A fast track court of the city sentenced an accused in a POCSO case to 33 years in prison.

Bhaskara (51), auto driver and resident of Kumbdaje Gauriadka, is the accused sentenced by the court.

The incident had occurred in 2020. In addition to 33 years in prison, convict Bhaskar was also fined Rs 50000.

According to POCSO law, the accused was sentenced to 28 years in prison and slapped a fine of Rs 40000 and according IPC, he was awarded a sentence of two years and slapped a fine of Rs 10000. If the convict fails to pay the fine, he has to undergo two years of further imprisonment.

Badiadka police had registered the case and filed a charge sheet.
