Mangaluru: Operator killed as huge heap of mud falls on excavator

Mangaluru, Apr 20: The operator of an excavator died on the spot as mud fell on the excavator on Wednesday April 19 evening at Malali Nadaje under Ganjimath gram panchayat limits near Bajpe.

The deceased is identified as Kosar Ansari (22), a native of Jharkhand.

A huge heap of mud fell on the back side of a tipper and the excavator. The operator of the excavator got stuck below the mud.

Fire service personnel and Bajpe police rushed to the spot. Though the mud was removed with the help of two excavators and locals, the operator had breathed his last by then.

    Town planning authority should also set regulation on the technical aspects of excavation, to save some time and bucks the owner/contractor are least bothered of poor fellow lives sometimes.
