Mangaluru: Online frauds on Instagram on pretext of ordering clothes, gifting iPhone

Mangaluru, Apr 23: In two separate cases, two people were cheated of Rs 1.3 lac online via Instagram.

In the first case, a sum of Rs 80,560 was transferred from the account of a person who ordered clothes through an Instagram account. The victim and complainant had ordered clothes from P7_allure Instagram account on March 22.

The parcel did not arrive even after many days. On April 18, a stranger called and informed them that the parcel would arrive. On the next day, the stranger sent the link https://qlx.26b.myftpupload.com saying that it is for tracking the parcel. When the victim clicked on the link Rs 80,560 was withdrawn from the account in two tranches of Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,560.

A case has been registered with the CEN police station.

In another case, a person was cheated on the pretext of sending an iPhone gift. The victim got a friend request from a stranger on Instagram by the name dr­_fredlutodc. The victim accepted the friend request.

Later, the stranger got the WhatsApp number of the victim and used to send him messages from 8880237242 and +447418370799 numbers. He also introduced himself as a doctor.

On March 27, the stranger, in a message said that he had sent an iPhone gift to the victim and asked him to send Rs 50,000 to the account of a person called Ranidas. However, the victim did not receive any gift.

A complaint has been registered with the CEN police station.

    I have also ordered iPhone at cost 14000. Frist I paid 400 as a advance after he sent the mobile. It was a fake. He said 25 days replacement is also available but now he is not picking call and not replying to message. He didn't block me.i am from poor family at low cost iPhone is available because of that i ordered this mobile but he cheated me. Iam requesting you to help me out. I have hope that you will help me to get my money back. Family members are eritating me to get back Money .. Please sir iam begging you to help me 🥺🥺

    Anyone need not be clever ,to know that someone is sending a gift means he has to pay for it.So when the other tells to pay a amount for a gift without knowing who he is .better inquire with someone how it functions ,or let the gift go back .Lot of people are fooled in dk .still this is going on.Many are greed of money and gift.Let them loose and learn.
